A Partner at MASON, HAYES AND CURRAN, McKENNA is an advocate of supporting the development of visual arts in Ireland, part of the firm’s CSR STRATEGY …
WORK STYLE: I’m primarily in dresses or separates – in fact I can’t remember the last time I bought a suit. I buy dresses in Zara and LK Bennett and for events I treat myself to something from Helen Cody or Louise Kennedy. As a litigator I attend the High Court and District Court so am usually in black. I try to elevate dresses with a coloured shoe or belt and occasionally statement jewellery.
EXPERIENCE: I have a penchant for long dangly earrings which I love to wear with my hair up. I’ve sourced some wonderful pairs from Loulerie, Avoca, Newbridge and Costume who stock Nach Bijoux which is slightly quirky. I’m not a huge fan of designer handbags – I spend most of my money on artwork either for the office collection or for myself and am always keen to check out graduate shows and the annual RHA exhibition. I’ve always believed that an empty wall kills the soul and I see my role in the office as creating a more colourful and interesting environment for the staff. We have over 100 pieces in the office’s collection; my favourites are by Diana Copperwhite and Jane Rainey. As a rule we only buy from living artists; both Irish and international. My interest in art was inspired by my brother who co-owned the Rubicon Gallery where I helped out as a teenager.
ESSENTIAL INFORMATION: I find I wear out jackets (and their elbows) quite quickly, hence why I am not a fan of suits. My shoes are mainly by LK Bennett or Buffalo, though if I had a wish list it would be a pair of Gianvito Rossi 105 heels in blush. At weekends I’m mostly in jeans, tops and sneakers. My scent is Molecule 001; even though I can no longer smell it on myself, I love it on other people. As for my briefcase – I use the leather one my parents bought me when I qualified 15 years ago. It is a little tired and worn, but I wouldn’t be without it.
