Step in to my office: Arlene McIntyre of Ventura Design

When Ventura founder and creative director Arlene McIntyre first envisioned her interior design studio, she imagined a workspace where designers and makers would collaborate, and where clients and collaborators could meet “over projects” so to speak. Now, with the success of her business and with showrooms in Deansgrange and Ballycoolin in Dublin as well as in Chelsea Harbour, London, she has designed the conference room in the Ventura Design Studio at head office in Ballycoolin to meet the needs of a very busy schedule. “We call it the “Situation Room” as many of our new exciting projects come to life within these walls. Our Mia chairs with their straight, low backs provide a relaxed, comfortable seating arrangement and the lighting is adjustable to suit each project.”

Ventura has a multidisciplinary team of over 50 based in Dublin, their expertise applied to a range of services, from residential and commercial design to corporate and hospitality assignments and furniture design. In every project, beautiful and functional solutions emerge with a sensitivity to the client’s needs.

New to Ventura is a furniture collaboration with designer Paul Costelloe: “Most of the luxurious upholstered pieces are manufactured in our workshops in Ireland. The provenance of our product is very important to our customers,” says McIntyre. The collection is based on comfort , and sofas are made with sustainable, non-toxic materials. “One of my favourite pieces is the coffee table, its oval shape and curved legs make it the perfect versatile addition to any room.”
