COLVILLE will arrive in May with an EXCLUSIVE COLLECTION for MATCHESFASHION.COM …
After a dramatic exit from British Vogue last year, Lucinda Chambers, former fashion editor of the publication, has announced today that she will be launching a clothing brand with former Marni designers Molly Molloy and Kristin Forss.
Titled Colville, the brand will launch with a 30-piece collection exclusive to Matchesfashion.com in mid-May. Natalie Kingham, fashion and buying director of Matchesfashion.com says the collection “feels new and original”. But given that Chambers was a long-time consultant and stylist for Marni, and Molloy and Forss were design directors for womenswear and menswear for over a decade, we can’t help but imagine the Italian brand will have a strong influence on this new label.
Speaking to Vogue, the trio say: “Colville is the antithesis of fast fashion. It’s about identity, honesty and — with a focus on our love of self-expression, colour, texture — we want to create things that will have longevity.”
In an Instagram post shared by Molloy today, the trio were spotted in matching wraparound slogan knitted jumpers and wide-legged trousers, accessorised with simple drop earrings. We’re envisaging lots of colour, print and statement-making accessories and the debut collection will also feature jewellery and accessories, for which Colville has collaborated with specialist designers.
We know where we’ll be looking for a colourful work wardrobe update this summer…
