THE GLOSS Magazine’s Look The Business 2017 in association with Vodafone was our biggest, best event yet. Were you there?

At Look The Business 2017, over 1,300 businesswomen enjoyed an evening of networking and fashion at the Main Hall of the RDS.

After a reception with delicious Tanqueray No. TEN gin and tonics, during which women from the worlds of finance, law, media, marketing and recruitment relaxed after a busy day, Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin welcomed guests on behalf of Jane McDonnell, Publisher and Sarah McDonnell, Editor of The Gloss.

Anne O’Leary, CEO of Vodafone, took to the stage to discuss the topic of diversity in the workplace. Legendary magazine editor, publisher and media owner, Sally O’Sullivan spoke about the concept of career invention and reinvention, her own life journey, and why print is the most engaging form of media. The audience were captivated by Sally, whose career includes roles at the helm of Good Housekeeping, Harpers. More recently, she founded two multi-million-pound publishing and content businesses, which were then acquired by global multinationals. After supper, actor and fragrance entrepreneur Richard E Grant graced the LTB stage where he gave an informative and entertaining speech about starting his own perfume company and wearing fragrance at work.

Next we got down to the serious business of fashion. A stunning fashion show on the longest catwalk in Ireland styled by Catherine Condell was all about the working wardrobe; what to wear to the office and to post-work events. Showcasing the best of Irish retail, the show featured fabulous fashion by Samui, Dunnes Stores, Kildare Village, MaxMara, Marks & Spencer and Louise Kennedy. Hair and make-up looks were created by Brown Sugar, with the teams led by Dearbhla Keenan and Roy Leigh.

There were fabulous prizes for our guests on the night including LK Bennett leather cosmetic purses, fragrances by Waters & Wild, a Mount Juliet overnight stay for two with breakfast, dinner and an afternoon tea, Boodles diamond earrings, KDK scarves and so much more. In the legendary Designer Handbag Draw one lucky guest went home with a signature Kennedy 32 tote bag by Louise Kennedy.
