This INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY Irish Charity ‘DRESS FOR SUCCESS‘ is launching the #WoMenAtWork campaign and they want you to take part …
Sonya Lennon founder of Dress for Success Dublin, and Michelle Toner, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at eir, headline sponsor for Dress for Success Dublin’s IWD campaign.
Dress For Success Dublin is a charity set up by Sonya Lennon which promotes the economic independence of women by helping them to enter the workplace and progress their careers. On International Women’s Day (March 8) Dress For Success is calling on workplaces around the country to hold a #WoMenAtWork event, this can be anything from a morning coffee break, a lunchtime walk, or a team breakfast to help raise awareness for the charity.
On the day, workers are encouraged to use this event as an opportunity to discuss some of the issues that women face in the workplace such as the gender pay gap, access to childcare, unconscious bias and discrimination. Employees taking part are asked to give a €5 donation which will go towards supporting the charity’s services.
Dress For Success Dublin is part of the overall Dress For Success group, an important charity supporting women in the workplace worldwide. The services provided include suiting appointments, a career centre, sectoral workshops and ongoing career support. Since Dress For Success Dublin was founded in 2010, it has supported over 1,400 women to develop skills in applying for and finding jobs; 57% of women supported by the organisation have gained employment.
